Castiel falls silent for a moment, before he takes one last glance toward the window, watching the dark landscape through the grimy panes before he dips his head and acquiesces, dropping his eyes to the floor, the thick carpet dusty beneath his riding boots, though it feels thick, like it was once plush and beautiful. Much of the castle, he can only assume, must have been something to behold, majestic and impressive, with its tall gothic arches and high windows and marble pillars.

He can't appreciate the beauty of it right now, though. Not when he feels cold inside, lost and confused and trapped. It feels good to at last have an answer regarding his father's whereabouts and safety, but it's Castiel who must endure here now, with this unpredictable creature he cannot hope to trust, or begin to understand.

Clenching his jaw and clasping his hands tightly together, Castiel follows in silence, his eyes down and his stomach churning.
